If you have some flexibility in the services needed to comfortably RV, then really consider camping at the US Army Corps of Engineers Campgrounds. They offer great sites, at very reasonable rates, in some unique locations across the country. You can typically stay for up to 14 days during any 30-consecutive day period. Some USACE/COE campgrounds offer full hook-ups, while some offer a picnic spot (aka Primitive/Boondocking). We recently stayed at Moutardier Campground and really enjoyed our visit.
United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) campgrounds offer great RV camping opportunities centered around water recreation. They offer thousands of recreation areas at over 450 lakes and waterways. USACE provides fishing, boating, hiking, and of course, camping opportunities that anyone can enjoy.
You can get RV camping information for USACE/COE campgrounds online, but it can be time-consuming. To find USACE/COE recreation facilities, start by going to the USACE/COE Administered Lakes map on the USACE website or Recreation.gov. From those sites, you can click on the state you wish to find RV camping information. The map on the USACE website shows recreation areas, and there is a drop-down menu of lakes. Choose a lake, and an information window will be displayed for the region selected with facility information and driving directions. You can also find additional information in books/ebooks available for Army COE Park Camping. Good luck with picking your Army COE Park to visit! We bet you’ll love it!
